He has responsibility for the company’s molybdenum mines, conversion facilities, and the Molybdenum companies’ sales and marketing. Mr. Kendrick has more than 35 years with the company that have included senior leadership roles at its copper and molybdenum operations in the U.S. and South America. He has a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering with a Minor in Metallurgical Engineering from Colorado School of Mines and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Denver.

Mark Johnson, President and Chief Operating Officer - Freeport-McMoRan Indonesia, is responsible for managing all aspects of the Indonesia mining operations, including long-range planning for the Grasberg district. Mr. Johnson has more than 35 years with the company that have included work in mine engineering, capital projects, exploration, strategy and cost management. He has a Bachelor of Science in Mine Engineering from Montana School of Mines.

Freeport-McMoRan's El Abra Operation in Chile Awards 62 Scholarships Through the Indigenous Scholarship Program

September 10, 2020 - Minera El Abra recently awarded 62 scholarships to indigenous students from the nearby communities of Alto El Loa Province and Calama to further their university or technical school studies. 

The site's Indigenous Scholarship program provides financial assistance to recipients and encourages them to use what they learn to make a meaningful difference in their communities. El Abra presented the awards during a special WebEx ceremony with site representatives due to precautions surrounding COVID-19. 

Cerro Verde, a Freeport-McMoRan Company, Donates Oxygen Generating Plant to Arequipa Hospital

September 3, 2020 - After a surge in coronavirus cases left Peruvian hospitals struggling to keep pace with increased demand for medical-grade oxygen amid a supply shortage, Cerro Verde donated an oxygen generating plant to Honorio Delgado Regional Hospital in Arequipa, Peru at the end of July.

PTFI Honored for Campaign to Reduce Plastic Waste

September 3, 2020 - PT Freeport Indonesia’s employee awareness campaign has won a prestigious international award from the Public Relations & Communications Association Southeast Asia for its success in helping reduce the use of plastic at Jobsite.

The campaign, known as #SaPuAir which means “My Water,” was conceived and launched by PTFI’s Corporate Communications team to educate the PTFI community about the quality of its own pristine water and the need to eliminate plastic water bottle use.  

Freeport-McMoRan's Community Partnership Panels Engage With Stakeholders Virtually

August 27, 2020 - Freeport-McMoRan’s North America Community Development team moved its 10 community meetings to a virtual space earlier this year when they could not be held in person due to social distancing precautions for large groups.

Each quarter, Community Partnership Panels provide a forum for representatives from the community and Freeport-McMoRan to discuss the status of the business and site operations, address any questions or concerns, and encourage dialogue related to community needs, challenges and possible solutions.
