Freeport Country Manager Elected to Chilean North American Chamber of Commerce Board

November 25, 2025 - Mario Larenas, Freeport’s Director and Country Manager in Chile, has been elected to the board of directors of the Chilean North American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham Chile). His term will run from 2026 through 2028.

AmCham Chile works to strengthen the bilateral relationship between Chile and the United States by promoting trade, investment and commercial cooperation. Larenas is one of four new board members selected in an election that had an historically high level of participation among member companies of the chamber.

“It is an honor to have been elected to the AmCham Board of Directors in a highly competitive process in which the top executives of more than 500 member companies of the chamber voted,” Larenas said. “This is recognition of the work that the Freeport-McMoRan team has carried out within the chamber over the years across various committees and existing forums, all of which aim to strengthen trade relations between both countries and to ensure that Chile offers an appropriate climate for U.S. investments.”
